The Travel Company is an independently owned travel consultancy in Melbourne, Australia, with national and global affiliations giving us the benefits and flexiblity to make the right choice of travel arrangements to suit your individual requirements.

The Travel Company’s directors, Malcolm Royston and Ron Prophet, are both involved in the day-to-day operations of the company from the Melbourne head office.

Malcolm, with many years experience in travel, including over 20 years alone working for Qantas Airways, can be regarded as a doyen of the travel industry, with a breadth and depth of knowledge which would be difficult to match in Australian travel.

Ron joined the travel industry sixteen years ago, following a business career which gave him a practical insight into the difficulties that travellers of all types can face; especially when trying to balance the competing priorities of budgets and results. Consequently, Ron is able to apply the practical lessons learned to the assessment of “best value propositions” for The Travel Company’s clients.

Senior staff are led by Wendy Hall, who with lengthy experience in retail and wholesale travel, as well as event and conference management, has been with the company virtually since its inception; In 2006, we were joined by Leah Jablko, who had for many years been the principal of her own business - Wonderworld Travel, and who has a great deal of expertise in both leisure and business travel.

We have recently completed the re-integration of our two offices into one, at our centrally located Melbourne CBD address in Collins Street. Lucia DiMaio, from our old Parkville office, is at Collins Street, with particular responsibility for our Parkville leisure clientele, as well as being our resident Italian specialist.

Maggie Deak and Christine Sampson are the remaining members of our consulting staff. Sadly, Marilyn McGregor, having been with the company since inception, has decided to retire. So, soon we will have more news on our new receptionist.

Business Development and Marketing is looked after by Shane Kelly, whose thirty plus years in the Australian airline and national travel industries enable him to take a broad view of the needs of corporate travellers.
